Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized the Russian player claimed his first championship for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging year, managing just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from March of the previous year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one various events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to get a championship is really nice," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had led observers to question if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete positively, supported by an enhanced service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
Both players traded service breaks in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first tour championship, gained dominance to push for a final set.
The opponent defended 4 early chances in a close third set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he clinched the title with a rally at the net area, with Moutet failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
